Regular monthly meeting where the Detroit Police Department reports out on actions and events that they are doing in Southwest Detroit. Held at the Southwest Safety Center, 4700 West Fort St.
The Youth & Family Economic Well Being Action Team will be meeting at Alternatives For Girls which is located at 903 W. Grand Blvd Detroit, MI 48208. Residents of the Vernor & Chadsey/Condon neighborhoods are encouraged to attend.
The attached paper explains the breakdown of the Department of Homeland Security into its different components, and is especially useful for those who are undocumented immigrants, or for agencies who serve them.
Training overview: This training is a first step in helping service providers build awareness about youth gangs. Training includes an overview of local gangs, why young people join gangs, how to recognize if someone is in a gang, and interpreting graffiti.
